About The Position

The Seasonal Park Maintenance Worker provides manual labor support for the Parks Department and works collaboratively with all other full-time staff to perform department operations during peak season, and ensure that they meet the principles and objectives of the City of Rogers. The position is generally part-time but work hours can fluctuate based on Park use. Minimum schedule availability of ten (10) hours per week required.

Requirements

  • High school diploma or GED, or currently enrolled.
  • General knowledge of standard practices, materials and tools used in a park environment.
  • Mental alertness and adaptability to office and field area work routines.
  • Experience working with machines and equipment preferred.
  • Ability to read and understand documents such as policy manuals, safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions, and procedure manuals.

Responsibilities

  • Performs maintenance and repair tasks necessary to provide safe parks facilities for the public.
  • Performs routine cleaning of parks spaces including restrooms, trash/debris removal, brush and tree removal, and trail cleaning.
  • Prepares sports fields and properties for competition, including open and closing procedures.
  • Promotes positive public image to citizens through excellent customer service.
  • Performs other duties as assigned by the Parks Superintendent or Department Director.
