The Fleet Maintenance Assistant supports the Fleet Mechanic in maintaining the organization's vehicles and equipment to ensure optimal performance, safety, and cleanliness. This hands-on role involves a variety of tasks ranging from mechanical support to administrative documentation and stakeholder communication.

Requirements

  • 18 years of age or older.
  • High school diploma or equivalent required.
  • Valid driver's license with good driving record.
  • Able to operate and maintain mechanical equipment safely.
  • Able to perform heavy physical work for extended periods of time.
  • Able to climb ladders, work at heights up to 100 feet, and/or in enclosed spaces.
  • Able to work in varied weather conditions (i.e. extreme heat, rain.)
  • Able to balance multiple assignments successfully.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
  • Able to provide excellent guest service by positively interacting with guests and upholding the guest service standards required.
  • Able to maintain courteous and helpful behavior towards guests and fellow team members.
  • Able to maintain appropriate employee appearance, per the employee handbook.
  • Able to work flexible schedule, including weekends, evenings and holidays.
  • This position is seasonal and not eligible for overtime pay.
  • Subject to Drug Free Workplace Policy.
  • Subject to Criminal Background check.
  • Subject to BMV check.

Responsibilities

  • Assist with routine maintenance tasks such as fluid changes, tire rotation/mounting/balancing, and vehicle detailing.
  • Conduct regular inspections to uphold safety standards and mechanical integrity.
  • Refuel vehicles and equipment across property grounds.
  • Perform general cleaning and detailing of fleet vehicles and work areas.
  • Operate and drive vehicles and equipment on and off property as needed.
  • Carry out additional duties as assigned by the Fleet Mechanic or supervisor.
  • Adapt to schedule changes based on operational and departmental needs, including potential weekend shifts.
  • Complete and submit inspection reports accurately and promptly.
  • Document maintenance activities, diagnostics, and future service recommendations using FMX software.
  • Communicate with internal stakeholders regarding vehicle status and maintenance needs.
