Your Opportunity We provide our clients a full range of surveying and mapping services. Through our work, we define land boundaries and analyze spatial data. We are looking for Seasonal Field Assistant to assist our team in Ohio. You will work with direct supervision and general direction on tasks and smaller projects, and as a team member of a larger project under the guidance of a Senior Surveyor. Please note that this is a summer position with a possibility of an extension.

Requirements

  • Good cooperative skills in working efficiently with a team.
  • Foundational math skills, including algebra and trigonometry.
  • Ability to learn to operate Trimble Robotic Total Stations, Trimble GPS equipment, TSC3 data collectors, and digital levels, and other related equipment.
  • Possess a valid driver's license with a good driving record.
  • 0-2+ years of related work experience preferred; or an equivalent combination of education and related experience.
  • Position will primarily work in field setting (seasonal).

Nice To Haves

  • Basic knowledge of surveying would be considered an asset.

Responsibilities

  • Preform surveying assignments under the direction of a supervisor.
  • Responsible for safe operation and maintenance of vehicles, tools, and equipment.
  • Loads vehicles with tools and equipment, ensuring materials are loaded correctly.
  • Learn to operate and maintain all instruments and measuring devices including levels, robotic total stations, GPS equipment and data collectors.
  • Learn to transfer survey data to the proper files in the computer network and acquire data for field use under the direction of the survey crew chief.
  • Learn to assist in the preparation of survey drawings using AutoCAD software.
  • Performs other duties of a similar nature and level as assigned.
