Canada, a growing national retailer of children's apparel, requires a seasonal contract Custodian, for our Distribution Centre located in Cambridge, Ontario. Contract runs through to December 31, 2026. This role reports into the Supervisor, Health & Safety and Maintenance and is based in our Canada DC in our on-site work environment. Wage: $19.50/hr SHIFT HOURS: 2:00pm - 10:00pm, Monday - Friday

Requirements

• Ability to work independently (self-managed) and with other Associates in a team environment
• Ability to identify “High Touch” area’s and clean these area’s using Carters Covid Cleaning and Disinfecting Guideline and Practices.
• Ability to learn quickly, adapt to change and be flexible in nature
• Display a high level of initiative and commitment to excellence
• Demonstrate a positive attitude, enthusiasm and assertiveness
• Effective verbal and written communication
• Ability to effectively use small hand tools
• Ability to spend up to eight hours walking, standing, climbing stairs, lifting
• Must be available to work in a multi-channel, multi-shift distribution environment, flexible to work different shifts and extended hours based upon business needs.
• Must be able to stand and work for long periods including daily overtime, holidays and overtime as required.
• Requires intermittent periods during which continuous physical exertion is required, such as walking, standing, stooping, climbing, lifting material or equipment, some of which may be heavy or awkward.
• Must be able to repetitively lift cases weighing up to fifty pounds.
• Must be able to work in varying temperatures.

Nice To Haves

• Highschool diploma or equivalent preferred
• 1 year of previous cleaning experience, warehouse environment preferred

Responsibilities

• Maintain daily overall cleanliness of entire warehouse facility including:
• Empty office wastebaskets and blue box containers
• Dust all office furniture
• Clean and sanitize drinking fountains in warehouse
• Spot clean desk tops
• Clean interior glass in partitions and doors
• Dust mop resilient hard floods
• Damp mop resilient hard floors
• Vacuum carpet
• Clean and sanitize all fixtures, glass, and mirrors in washrooms
• Empty and sanitize all washroom and eating areas containers and disposals
• Refill all washroom dispensers to normal limits
• Damp clean and sanitize table tops, seats, and back of chairs in eating areas
• Clean microwaves inside and out
• Clean eyewash stations
• Empty trash containers and disposals
• Spot clean any glass
• Maintain weekly overall cleanliness of entire warehouse facility including:
• Clean and sanitize office telephones
• Low dusting of all horizontal surfaces to hand height in washrooms, eating areas, and offices
• Damp wipe exterior of lockers
• Clean fridges
• Clean RF cabinets (6)
• Perform other tasks as assigned.
