About The Position

The purpose of this classification is to perform unskilled to semi-skilled and manual labor work in the maintenance of Mahr Park
ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:
The following duties are normal for this position. The omission of specific statements of the duties does not exclude them from the classification if the work is similar, related, or a logical assignment for this classification. Other duties may be required and assigned.
Performs general laboring tasks in one of the following areas: parks, cemetery, golf course, transportation, wastewater construction, water filtration, or sanitation.
Participates in cleaning equipment and performing preventive maintenance; makes minor repairs to equipment.
Operates a variety of trucks and equipment in performing tasks.
Inspects equipment and assigned work area for safety hazards.
Mows grass at parks; weed eats and edges; measures, cuts and lays sod; mulches lawns; blows leaves; plants trees; trims trees; seeds; lays straw; removes trees and debris.
Picks up and disposes of litter; removes and replaces trash receptacles.
Shovels snow.
Pressure washes park facilities and equipment; paints as needed.
Assists with special events as needed.
May schedule use of facility.
ADDITIONAL FUNCTIONS:
Performs other related duties as required.

Requirements

• Possess a high school diploma or GED equivalent
• Possess and maintain a valid Kentucky Driver’s license
• Work outside in all weather conditions
• Must be able to do manual labor (lifting, digging, light construction, mowing)
• Must be available to work on weekends and holidays
