About The Position

The Seasonal Credentials Gate Staff plays an important role in welcoming guests and ensuring secure access throughout the BNP Paribas Open. This team is responsible for scanning and verifying credentials at designated entry points to ensure that only authorized individuals enter restricted areas. Shifts will vary as follows: Mandatory Orientation (no exceptions): Sunday, February 15, 9am - 1pm March 1- 15, 2026, shifts available 7am - 3pm, 9am - 5pm, 10am - 6pm, 1pm - 9pm, and 5pm - 9pm

Requirements

  • High School diploma or general education degree (GED) Required
  • Strong communications and customer service skills
  • Ability to remain calm and professional in a fast-paced environment
  • Reliable, punctual, and attentive to details
  • Able to stand for extended periods of time
  • California Workplace Harassment Prevention certification
  • California Workplace Violence Prevention certification
  • Ability to speak effectively with guests, vendors, co-workers, and all organization employees
  • Ability to speak, read and understand English
  • Ability to carry out instructions furnished in written, oral, or diagram form
  • Ability to deal with problems involving several concrete variables in standardized situations
  • Ability to apply basic concepts of math
  • Basis computer literacy and using hand-held devices

Nice To Haves

  • Current or prior experience in customer service a plus
  • Prior customer service or event experience helpful, but not required
  • Credential program training provided

Responsibilities

  • Greet and assist guests, staff, media, and vendors at entry points
  • Scan and verify credentials using RFID scanning equipment
  • Ensure individuals are entering the correct designated areas
  • Always maintain a professional and friendly demeanor
  • Provide basic event information and directions as needed
  • Provide courteous and efficient customer service to staff, vendors, and guests picking up credentials
  • Report any access concerns or credential issues to supervisor
  • Follow credentialing and security procedures established by tournament management
  • Maintain confidentiality of sensitive information related to access and credentials
  • Perform additional duties as assigned by the credentials manager
