About The Position

Under the supervision of the Associate Director of Pharmacy Clinical Services and reporting to the Residency Program Director (RPD), the resident is responsible for providing comprehensive pharmaceutical care and services to FCS (Florida Cancer Specialists) and Rx To Go’s patients. The Specialty Pharmacy service requirements include but are not limited to: handling oral oncology medications, prescription verification, REMS (Risk Evaluation and Mitigation Strategy) compliance, patient counseling, and other functions necessary for optimal specialty pharmacy performance. Demonstrates working knowledge of all facets of role, relevant regulations, and organizational and departmental policies and procedures. Performs other duties and projects as assigned. Performs all duties in accordance with regulatory requirements and organizational policies and procedures. The resident is expected to uphold all district-wide policies and procedures as well as Clinical Pharmacist expectations. The resident is required to complete program requirements to be awarded a certificate at the end of the year as described in the residency manual. Requirements

  • Pharm D. or Bachelor's in Pharmacy
  • The applicant must be a citizen of the U.S.A. or hold a visa allowing for the completion of the residency year
  • The applicant must desire to be a highly motivated pharmacist wanting advanced education and training that leads to an enhanced level of professional pharmacy practice
  • Active Florida Pharmacist License in the state of Florida OR Pharmacy Intern License in Florida
  • The Pharmacy Resident is expected to complete licensure examinations and all other requirements
  • Working pharmacy knowledge, principles and practices of pharmacy, Federal and State laws

  • Critical thinking skills including solid problem solving, analysis, decision-making, planning, time management and organizational skills
  • Must be detailed oriented with the ability to exercise independent judgment

  • Good command of the English language

  • Proficiency in MS Office Word, Excel, Power Point, and Outlook required

Nice To Haves

  • Specialty Pharmacy/Oncology experience is preferred
  • Second language is an asset but not required
