About The Position

We are seeking dependable and hardworking Cemetery Support Staff to help maintain the grounds at Mt. Hope Cemetery and Memorial Park Cemetery in Topeka. This seasonal, part time role plays an important part in ensuring our cemeteries remain clean, well kept, and respectful spaces for families and the community.

Requirements

• Reliable individuals who take pride in their work
• Ability to work outdoors in varying weather conditions
• Willingness to perform physical labor, including walking, lifting, and operating equipment
• Strong attention to detail and respect for the cemetery environment
• Ability to follow safety guidelines and work independently or as part of a team
• A high school education or GED.
• Possess a valid Kansas Drivers’ License and meet the driving performance standards as determined by management.
• Principles, procedures, and equipment involved in the construction, maintenance, cleaning or repair of parks, grounds, public roads, or other related projects.
• Must be able to operate equipment such as mowers, trimmers, hand and power tools, and cemetery vehicles in a manner consistent with safety principles.
• Ability to deal effectively and courteously with associates and the public.
• Ability to follow oral and written instructions.

Nice To Haves

• Previous groundskeeping or landscaping experience is helpful but not required.

Responsibilities

• Mowing, trimming, and weed eating cemetery grounds
• Assisting with general groundskeeping and seasonal maintenance
• Operating landscaping tools and equipment safely
• Supporting the team in maintaining a neat, professional appearance throughout the property
