About The Position

Stew Leonard’s, a family-owned and operated fresh food store founded in 1969, has locations in Connecticut, New York, and New Jersey. Stew’s earned its nickname, the “Disneyland of Dairy Stores” because of its country-fair atmosphere, with costumed characters and animated entertainment throughout the store that keep children entertained while parents shop. Cashiers complete the monetary transaction with customers by scanning and weighing products and accepting money, checks, credit/debit cards, or other form of payment for purchases. They operate a cash register in a food store or outdoor season shops.

Requirements

Responsibilities

• Welcoming customers and answering any questions they have about our products
• Balancing the cash register
• Bagging items
• Generating the correct amount of change for customer
• Provide exceptional customer service
• Willing to work in other departments as the business needs
