About The Position

ALDI is seeking enthusiastic seasonal cashiers and stockers for part-time roles, averaging fewer than 30 hours per week. As a seasonal cashier, you will provide friendly, efficient checkout service, including utilizing the point-of-sale (POS) system and completing curbside pickup orders. As a seasonal stocker, you will help keep shelves stocked and organized, following merchandising planograms. Both roles are crucial for maintaining smooth store operations and delivering an excellent customer shopping experience.

Requirements

  • Ability to operate all store equipment such as cash registers, floor scrubber, cardboard baler, pallet jacks, handheld devices, computers, etc.
  • Ability to interpret and apply ALDI operating policies and procedures
  • Ability to effectively communicate both verbally and in writing
  • Ability to perform basic arithmetic such as addition, subtraction, multiplication, and division
  • Ability to follow instructions and pay attention to detail
  • Ability to work both independently and with others
  • Ability to organize, prioritize and complete assigned tasks to maximize productivity within established timeframes
  • Ability to maintain reliable and prompt attendance
  • Ability to meet availability requirements
  • At least 18 years old
  • Required to push, pull, sit, stand, reach, grasp, twist, bend, and move from one area to another
  • Required to lift, carry, and place product weighing up to 45 pounds on shelves at various heights, including overhead
  • Required to operate equipment such as a cash register, electric and manual hand jacks, floor scrubber and cardboard baler
  • Required to stock product in varying temperatures, including freezer and cooler environments
  • Required to use glass and multipurpose cleaning products
  • Ability to arrive to work as early as 5:00am (for Stocker responsibilities)

Nice To Haves

  • High school diploma or equivalent
  • Prior work experience in a retail environment

Responsibilities

  • Model and fulfill all customer service principles and escalate concerns to store management as necessary
  • Assist store management in achieving operational efficiency goals
  • Assist store management in achieving total loss goals
  • Comply with all established company policies and processes
  • Support store management in providing a safe working environment by identifying and rectifying hazards, ensuring proper ergonomics, and maintaining equipment in proper working order
  • Maintain store zones standards and merchandising standards at all times
  • Adhere to inventory procedures and product handling guidelines
  • Perform general cleaning tasks to company standards
  • Properly utilize the point-of-sale (POS) system to accurately scan and process customer purchases and inform store management of scanning concerns or errors
  • Adhere to cash policies and procedures
  • Follow the line policy and open additional check lanes as required to ensure an efficient checkout
  • Complete curbside pickup orders by accurately retrieving items from the store, verifying order contents, and ensuring timely delivery to customers’ vehicles from the staging area
  • Stock shelves and displays neatly while following merchandising planograms to maximize sales
