About The Position
Illinois Independent Living Center (IILC) The Illinois Independent Living Center and Katharine Manor Apartments provide affordable, wheelchair accessible, barrier-free housing designed specifically for people who are mobility impaired, mentally alert, and able to live independently. The housing promotes an independent lifestyle through its wheelchair accessible architectural design, in-house homemaker services, and convenient access to the community and its opportunities. As a caregiver, you will provide a variety of non-medical services that allow tenants to remain in their homes and meet their daily challenges with dignity and compassion. This role is for a seasonal part-time weekend-only position from May 30th - July 12th to
Requirements
- HS Diploma or GED
- Complete Physical/Drug Screen/TB Test
- Complete all required background checks
- Be able to lift 50lbs throughout shift
- Ability to speak/read/write in English fluently
- Valid IL Driver's license and clear driving record
Nice To Haves
- Previous experience as a non-medical caregiver preferred
Responsibilities
- Provide home care services to a tenant in their residence located on-site at Katherine Manor
- Provide non-medical assistance to the tenant to meet the demands of living independently and maintaining a personal residence. This includes, but is not limited to, assistance with medication reminders, general housekeeping, and basic ADLs
- Accurately complete all appropriate record documentation and report any concerning observations to the supervisor
- Ensure that all services are provided in accordance with the policies and procedures set forth by the Illinois Independent Living Center (IILC) at Katharine Manor.
- Provide general housekeeping duties in community areas and other apartments as assigned
- Utilize proper PPE and lifting techniques as required to ensure the safety of both the caregiver and tenant
- Adhere to the dress and grooming standards of Illinois Independent Living Center
- Other duties as assigned by management
