Seasonal Bartender

About the position

Westchester Country Club is hiring seasonal Bartenders to join our Food & Beverage team at either our Main Club location and/or Beach Club outlet. Bartenders prepare all alcoholic drinks for Members and guests at the Main Club or Beach Club, according to professional standards.

Responsibilities

• Know the standard drink recipes and be able to mix them quickly and accurately.
• Follow customer preferences or recipes for drinks.
• Check the identification of members and guests to ensure they meet the minimum drinking age.
• Take drink orders and serve drinks using Jonas POS computer system to charge members.
• Fill drink orders placed by diners in the restaurant, usually served by waiters.
• Arrange bottles and barwares, wash glasses, and clean the bar.
• Remove empty bottles and trash and replace empty beer kegs.
• Stock the bar by bringing liquor bottles, mixed drink ingredients, and other supplies from the storeroom.
• Keep track of wines, beers, liquors, and other supplies, reporting what is needed to the bar manager.

Requirements

• Prior bartending experience in a fast-paced environment.
• Minimum age requirement of 18 to serve alcoholic beverages per NYS Legal Guidelines.
• Awareness of state and local laws concerning the sale of alcoholic drinks.
• Unexpired bartender certification.
• Ability to follow routine verbal and written instructions.
• Knowledge of customer service standards and procedures.
• Strong communication skills.
• Ability to work in a highly active, multitasking environment.
• Frequent standing and walking for extended periods.
• Excellent physical fitness, visual acuity, and sense of urgency to attend to members' needs.
• Work performed mainly outdoors throughout the summer.
• Good interpersonal skills.
• Proactive in anticipating and responding to members' needs.
• Comfortable with taking directions and communicating with co-workers.
• Highly responsible and well-organized in tending to members' daily needs.
• Professional appearance and attitude at all times.
