About The Position

The Assistant Camp Cook supports the Camp Cook in preparing and serving nutritious, child-friendly meals to youth campers and staff. This role helps maintain a clean and organized kitchen, meets food safety standards, and contributes to a positive dining experience in a fun, active camp setting. The assistant Cook will also clean and sanitize the kitchen multiple times throughout the day, ensuring it is clean every evening and prepared/prepped for the next day.

Requirements

• Ability to reach, push, pull, bend, stoop, stand, walk.
• Lift 50 lb. from the floor to waist
• Carry 50 lb. for 240 ft.
• Push with 40 lbs. of force 6 ft.
• Lifts/moves with unknown weight or awkward shapes and sizes with assistance.

Responsibilities

• Meal Preparation Support: Assist with preparing ingredients, cooking meals, and setting up serving stations. Help ensure meals are timely, balanced, and suitable for children, including those with dietary restrictions.
• Sanitation & Clean-Up: Maintain the cleanliness of the kitchen, food prep areas, and dining facilities. Wash dishes, sanitize equipment, and follow health and safety guidelines to ensure a hygienic environment.
• Food Storage & Inventory Assistance: Help receive and store food deliveries properly, rotate stock, and monitor inventory levels. Notify the Camp Cook when supplies are low or nearing expiration.
