About The Position

We are looking for friendly, energetic, and reliable individuals that enjoy working with the public to work in our Aquatics department. The Aquatics Associate is responsible for delivering excellent customer service while assisting customers with pond equipment, water supplies, bird feed and feeders. You will learn fish care, water treatments, and filtration systems, statuary, fountains as well as an understanding of bird feeding habits and seed varieties to help customers make informed purchasing decisions. In addition to providing knowledgeable assistance, the Aquatics Associate stocks shelves. The position also involves operating a cash register accurately and efficiently. Candidates should possess strong communication and customer service skills, be comfortable working in a fast-paced retail environment.

Requirements

• Interest in ponds, fish care, or birds is a plus
• Must be at least 15 years of age
• Must have reliable transportation
• Must be able to work a minimum of 20 hours per week
• Must be available for at least one weekend shift ability for both weekend days preferred during peak season
• Ability to stand for extended periods
• Comfortable working in all weather conditions (indoor and outdoor work environment)
• Ability to follow directions and work independently when needed
• Ability to lift 40–50 lbs
• Strong communication and customer service skills
