About The Position

The Wisconsin Humane Society (WHS) is hiring part-time and full-time seasonal Animal Care Technician (ACT) to provide support to animals and offer valuable services to the community. ACTs report to the Adoption Counseling/Animal Care supervisory team and work onsite at the Ozaukee Campus. Requirements

  • Ability to navigate emotional aspects of animal welfare work
  • Availability to work evenings, a consistent weekend shift each week, and holidays
  • Able to successfully meet the physical demands of the job, which include stooping, kneeling, crouching, crawling, standing, walking, pulling, lifting, grasping, and repetitive motions. Must be able to routinely lift and carry up to 50 pounds.

  • Prior animal care experience is a plus

Responsibilities

  • Provide animals with food, water, enrichment, and other essential daily needs
  • Maintain clean animal housing following our high standard cleaning guidelines
  • Provide initial exams and vaccinations for animals at time of intake
  • Administer medical treatments under the direction of a veterinarian
  • Maintain detailed and accurate records in our animal management software
  • Commit to a welcoming, supportive, and non-judgmental approach with all clients, callers, and coworkers
  • Other duties as assigned
