About The Position

The Seasonal Animal Care Handler position at Albany Pet Hotel is a temporary, part-time role designed to support the facility during its busiest holiday season. The ideal candidate will be an animal lover with a flexible schedule, available to work various shifts, including holidays, to ensure the well-being of the pets in care. This role involves hands-on animal care, cleaning, and assisting with daily operations at the pet hotel.

Requirements

• Must be available to work the schedule outlined including some evening shifts (up until 9pm).
• Must be at least 18 years of age to apply.
• Must have reliable transportation.
• Must be able to stand on your feet for long periods of time, bend, squat, crawl, walk up and down stairs, lift 30 pounds independently, and work outside in winter weather.
• Must have strong communication skills, be detail oriented, be proactive and efficient, and be able to take direction from managers.
• Must be reliable and punctual.

Responsibilities

• Handle a variety of dogs ranging in age, size, and temperament.
• Thoroughly clean and sanitize kennels, yards, play areas, and other areas of the facility.
• Set up kennels for incoming boarding dogs.
• Help move dogs throughout the facility, and to and from their kennels to different play areas.
• Laundry, dishes, mopping, vacuuming, stocking supplies, etc.
• One-on-one playtime sessions and individual potty breaks with dogs.
• Preparing meals for daycare and boarding dogs and setting food bowls down.
• Other small tasks that may involve cleaning or spending time with the dogs.
