About The Position
Rutgers, The State University of New Jersey is seeking a Seasonal Agricultural Workers (Adelphia Research Farm) for the School of Environmental and Biological Sciences. The position reports to Primary Investigator (PI) or supervisor designated Field Researcher. Employees will be trained and supervised by staff and/or PI. Among the key duties of the position are the following: Helps to establish and maintain turfgrass research areas on farm which may include turfgrass nurseries, crossing blocks, seeded field trials, and greenhouses. Duties may include watering, cutting, planting/establishing, or weeding research areas on research farms and in greenhouses. Assists in establishment of breeding trials, plant tissue collection or harvest, and seed harvest/isolation/preparation/threshing and weighing. May be asked to assist PI or researchers in data collection. Assists in subsequent data collection during summer and biomass/seed harvest in summer.
