About The Position
Seasonal (SEAS) position Job Description: An individual who instructs swim lessons in the Town's Swim Program. An individual who ensures the safety of patrons in and around the waterfront by monitoring swimmers and enforcing safety rules and regulations. Lifeguards are skilled swimmers and display leadership characteristics, communication skills, and assertiveness as needed.
Requirements
- Must be 17 years of age or 16 years of age with one year of experience.
- Must have current American Red Cross certifications: ARC Water Safety Instructor (WSI), ARC Lifeguard Training (LGT), Waterfront Lifeguard Certification, Professional Rescuer CPR.
- Know emergency procedures of assigned sites.
- Certifications as above.
- Maintain good physical condition
- Attend all morning drills
- Good vision and auditory skills
- Run, swim, and paddle.
- Deal with volatile situations with professionalism.
Responsibilities
- Instruct swim lessons in the Town's Swim Program.
- Ensure the safety of patrons in and around the waterfront.
- Monitor swimmers.
- Enforce safety rules and regulations.
