About The Position

US Patriot is seeking a Seamstress / Tailor (Part-Time) to support our mission by delivering high-quality garment services to our Soldiers and Airmen. We have over 105 retail locations and multiple web portals to take care of our customers tactical gear needs. As a Seamstress / Tailor at US Patriot/Galls you will be hands-on altering and providing exceptional customer service to our soldiers and airmen. You will ensure all measurements and fittings are done properly, accurately, and efficiently – so that they can wear that uniform proudly. At US Patriot, we are P.R.O.U.D. to Serve, and it all starts on our Production and Value-Added Service Team.

Requirements

• High school diploma or GED equivalent required
• Previous work experience in Alterations required
• Well-versed on commercial / industrial sewing equipment
• Ability to effectively read/receive work instructions in English
• Extremely detail-oriented and quality-focused – you’re not happy with mistakes
• Solid communication (both written and verbal) and interpersonal skills
• Ability to stand or sit for long periods of time, bend, stretch, twist, and lift, with or without reasonable accommodation

Responsibilities

• Read and accurately identify the customer’s needs per the Work Instruction Document
• Take necessary measurements and mark garments for alterations with ability to problem solve individual sizing issues
• Perform uniform sewing, alternations, and embellishments with accuracy and efficiency to include taking up stride, lengthening/shortening tails on shirts, tapering shirts, adjusting waists, hemming trousers, mending tears, replacing zippers, applying patches, applying name strips, applying striping, and applying patches
• Operate industrial sewing machinery and meet production deadlines
• Other duties may be assigned to meet business needs
