About The Position

The Seal Coat Foreman supervises and provides direction and guidance to field employees on day-to-day operations and activities relating to Seal Coat activities. This role involves overseeing daily operations of a Seal Coat Crew, including safety, quality, and personnel management. The foreman will schedule work with direction from the Operations Team and must possess excellent communication, leadership, and management skills. The position requires the ability to manage field operations, supervise, and perform various trades as necessary. It also involves supporting safety & health programs, including weekly tailgate meetings, accident investigations, and development and implementation of corrective action plans, as well as enforcing all safety & environmental policies and applicable OSHA rules and regulations. The foreman is also responsible for providing guidance and development to hourly personnel to meet performance requirements.

Requirements

  • Possess excellent communication, leadership and management skills.
  • Must be able to accept out of town work and/or occasional weekend work.
  • Ability to manage field operations.
  • Ability to supervise and willingness to perform various trades as necessary.
  • Must be able to walk through construction sites and lift 50 pounds from the ground.
  • Ability to operate the following construction equipment: Skid-steer, Paver, and Asphalt Roller.
  • Experience with Paving Roadways, Parking Lots and Repair & Maintenance projects.
  • Must have supervisory skills handling crews ranging from 4-8 people.
  • Must maintain high quality workmanship.
  • Must be capable and proficient interacting with asphalt plants—ability to achieve accurate AC take-offs.
  • Must be capable and proficient in interacting with trucking subcontractors and other miscellaneous subs.
  • Ability to travel for work during the week or weekend when needed.
  • Able to work weekends when needed.
  • Ability to pass background check and drug screen.

Responsibilities

  • Oversee and supervise daily operations of one of our Seal Coat Crews including the safety, quality, and personnel management aspects.
  • Schedule work for crews with direction from our Operations Team.
  • Manage field operations.
  • Supervise and willingness to perform various trades as necessary.
  • Support of safety & health programs, including weekly tailgate meetings, accident investigations, and development and implementation of corrective action plans.
  • Enforcement of all safety & environmental policies, and all applicable OSHA rules and regulations.
  • Provide guidance and development of hourly personnel to meet performance requirements.
