Requirements
- High school diploma or state issued equivalency certificate.
- Strong interpersonal skills, friendly, outgoing personality
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills
- Ability to work in a fast-paced retail store environment

Responsibilities
- Assist customers with all items sold in the Market, including fresh fish, fresh meat, chef case items, menu items, and frozen foods.
- Maintain a basic knowledge of product offerings to answer customer questions, including types of fish, cuts of meat, cooking methods, and featured/sale items.
- Cut, weigh, wrap, and label meat and seafood products to customer specifications and store standards.
- Ensure all products are fresh, rotated properly, and attractively displayed in the meat and seafood cases.
- Follow all food safety and sanitation guidelines for handling, storing, and cleaning procedures.
- Demonstrate exceptional customer service by being polite, friendly, attentive to needs, and providing information or assistance as required—including answering phones professionally.
- Operate the cash register system and assist with various types of transactions, including cash, check, credit cards, food stamps, gift cards, and Advantage Club cards.
- Resolve customer issues related to sales, including special orders, complaints, and refunds.
- Keep work areas neat, clean, and well-stocked—including inventory for fresh fish, meat, cooked food, and grocery items.
- Adhere to store hours and coordinate with teammates for break and lunch schedules while remaining flexible based on customer demand.
- Communicate customer needs and concerns to the Manager on Duty and collaborate with management to ensure excellent service.
- Present a professional image through proper attire, grooming, and hygiene as outlined in the employee guidebook.
- Abide by the Palmer Food Services Employee Handbook and demonstrate an understanding of the Company’s culture, goals, and objectives.
- Be willing to cross-train in other areas of the company and assist where needed.
- Perform all other duties as assigned by the Market General Manager.
