About The Position

Job Title: Seafood ManagerReports to: Store ManagerFunction: To provide courteous and efficient service to customers in the operation of the Seafood DepartmentEssential Responsibilities and Duties:Carry out all seafood merchandising programs for the departmentOrder seafood and control inventorySupervise and provide in depth training for department personnelInsure that company policies and philosophies are followed and understood by staffPrepare employee work schedules, and ensure adequate labor coverage at all timesMake sure products are prepared, priced, promoted, restocked, etc. according to approved procedures while minimizing waste and maintaining maximum profitabilityCoordinate the building of displays, signs, and the arrangement of products within the departmentInsure favorable department image to the highest standards of presentation to increase the McCaffreys brandMaintain and submit all required records and reports on a timely basisFollow all safe food handling procedures and insure that staff also compliesEvaluate job performance of subordinates and recommend for raises, promotions or terminationsPerform all functions of seafood clerks in the department when necessaryPerform other duties as assigned by the Store ManagerPhysical Demands:Stand on feet, bend forward, stoop or walk for the majority of the time on dutyWork in freezer and/or cooler for short periods of timeLift cases/containers of product up to 50 poundsProvide prompt and courteous service to customers according to company policiesUnload deliveries of seafood. Verify invoices and weights.Clean, cut and filet fishWeigh, wrap, code and price fish, shrimp, etc.Display product in cases as directed in the highest standards of presentationMaintain knowledge of all products sold in the departmentSet up and breakdown seafood cases, stock freezer, check and remove out of date items, and rotate products according to company standards.Maintain all departmental equipment. Responsibilities

  • Make sure products are prepared, priced, promoted, restocked, etc. according to approved procedures while minimizing waste and maintaining maximum profitability
  • Coordinate the building of displays, signs, and the arrangement of products within the department
  • Insure favorable department image to the highest standards of presentation to increase the McCaffreys brand
  • Maintain and submit all required records and reports on a timely basis
  • Follow all safe food handling procedures and insure that staff also complies
  • Evaluate job performance of subordinates and recommend for raises, promotions or terminations
  • Perform all functions of seafood clerks in the department when necessary
  • Perform other duties as assigned by the Store Manager
