About The Position

Seafood Kitchen Clerk (Part-Time) - North Babylon, NY Join our team at Uncle Giuseppe's Marketplace! Our North Babylon Store is actively seeking a Part-Time Seafood Kitchen Clerk to assist with the preparation of our fresh and delicious seafood dishes. This role plays a key part in our Seafood Department, helping prepare ingredients, sides, sauces, and meals according to our signature store recipes. The ideal candidate is dependable, detail-oriented, and eager to learn. You should be comfortable working in a fast-paced, team-oriented kitchen while following health, safety, and sanitation guidelines.

Requirements

Must be 18 years or older
Minimum 1 year of experience in a fast-paced, industrial kitchen environment
Knowledge of kitchen health and safety practices
Manual dexterity to handle knives, utensils, and cutting tools safely
Strong teamwork and communication skills
Ability to remain positive and focused under pressure
Good physical stamina and endurance

Responsibilities

Follow prep lists and direction from department chefs to complete daily tasks
Label, stock, and organize ingredients to ensure easy accessibility
Measure and prepare ingredients and seasonings for cooking
Wash, chop, and portion seafood and produce according to recipes
Assist with basic cooking duties such as reducing sauces or parboiling ingredients
Prepare simple menu items such as salads and entrées
Maintain a clean, organized workspace by washing dishes, sanitizing surfaces, and disposing of trash
Ensure proper food storage and rotation
Comply with all food safety and sanitation standards
