About The Position

The Seafood Clerk at 99 Ranch Market is responsible for maintaining the seafood department, ensuring product quality, and providing excellent customer service. This role involves setting up seafood displays, processing seafood products, and adhering to food safety regulations while contributing to a positive shopping experience for customers.

Requirements

• Previous seafood department experience is preferred.
• Knowledge of general seafood product lines or similar experience.
• Availability to work on weekends and holidays or rotating schedules.
• Ability to communicate effectively with customers and team members.
• Ability to follow instructions, procedures, and company policies.
• Ability to inspect and evaluate product quality.
• Requires proper training and knowledge of equipment operation.

Responsibilities

• Set up fresh seafood cases and ensure proper signage and merchandising.
• Keep aisles and common areas clean to prevent injury.
• Unload and break down deliveries, refill products, and rotate for freshness.
• Skin, clean, and cut fish upon customer request.
• Fry and/or steam seafood products as requested, maintaining equipment cleanliness.
• Keep accurate logs in accordance with company policies and health regulations.
• Stock, ship, and distribute product items to production teams following FIFO method.
• Monitor cooler/freezer temperatures to ensure compliance with standards.
• Proactively reach out to customers and provide excellent service.
• Conduct monthly inventory counts with team members.
• Clean seafood tanks and maintain product freshness and quality.
• Sanitize display cases, scales, and counters, and maintain clean work areas.
• Inspect seafood quality and remove unmarketable items.
• Cut, wrap, and pack items accurately and efficiently.
