About The Position
Our Sayville Store is actively seeking a PT Seafood Clerk (BOH) to join its seafood team! Uncle Giuseppe's gourmet Marketplace serves its customers freshly delivered seafood, with a vast array of seafood choices. Many types of fish, crab, lobsters, clams, oysters, scallops and all of the seafood you could dream up, we have! Our Seafood Chefs cook seafood dishes, gourmet style, for our customers to grab and go for a gourmet cooked home meal! Our Seafood (BOH) clerks are responsible for cooking our fresh seafood, making and preparing salads, seafood sandwiches and grab and go items.
Requirements
- 18 years of age or older
- Working knowledge of seafood preparations and displays within a seafood department
- Ability to interpret, understand and follow instructions and solve problems
Responsibilities
- The Seafood Clerks will cook and steam seafood for customer purchases, including grab and go items
- Check and verify freshness of seafood items in live tanks. Verify and remove spoiled product and rotate merchandise
- The Seafood Clerk will weigh, price, and package customer selections using weigh scales, label machine and wrapping machine
- Work in a safe and proper manner, exercising safe food handling practices.
- Exercise proper safety practices on use of all equipment
- Operate and clean seafood equipment and tools
- Other duties as assigned
