Requirements

  • Minimum 2 years of experience in freight forwarding or a related logistics role.
  • Strong understanding of domestic and international geography, including major cities and seaports.
  • Basic knowledge of U.S. regulatory requirements (FAA, FMC, EAR, Hazmat) and other relevant government agencies.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office.
  • Ability to complete IMO Security training classes.

Responsibilities

  • Manage and coordinate sea export shipments.
  • Open export files and prepare internal documentation.
  • Update shipment statuses and advise customers on arrival details.
  • Coordinate closely with the operations team to manage the full shipment process.
  • Arrange pick-up or inland transportation, booking, and prepare export documentation.
  • Ensure accurate tracking and tracing to destination.
  • Maintain proactive communication with vendors, shippers, customers, carriers, and Kuehne+Nagel overseas offices.
  • Negotiate competitive rates with service providers to optimize cost efficiency.
  • Maintain up-to-date SOPs and detailed customer profiles.
  • Support overseas offices by contributing to quote preparation.
  • Regularly monitor and review updates and resources published on Kuehne+Nagel's intranet.
  • Promptly escalate any operational issues, disputes, or discrepancies.
  • Follow established Quality Management Work Instructions and procedures.
  • Address and resolve issues related to client requirements and general customer service inquiries.
  • Investigate and resolve billing discrepancies.
