About The Position

The NCDAC / Support Services / Division of Engineering, Construction, and Maintenance (DECM) is recruiting for an energized and collaborative SE&R Field Services Manager (Maintenance/Construction Supervisor IV) to be a part of the DECM-Maintenance Operations Team. This position has a duty station of the DECM-Maintenance Operations complex in Raleigh, NC and will be tasked with supervising the SE&R Field Services Team responsible for the installation, servicing, maintaining, and troubleshooting all Sustainability, Efficiency, and Resilience (SE&R) related systems, including but not limited to, HVAC building automation systems (BAS), water management systems (WMS), and other mechanical, electrical, and plumbing metering systems that support the conservation and efficient usage of energy. A successful candidate for this SE&R Field Services Manager (Maintenance/Construction Supervisor IV) position, shall be able to assign tasks to the SE&R Field Engineers for supporting regional and institutional maintenance personnel in the commissioning, troubleshooting, repairing and maintaining of complex electronic based metering systems installed within the Department of Adult Correction facilities and Institutions. This position will manage the SE&R Field Engineers assignments to ensure they are working efficiently and meeting all the program objectives, while maintaining a professional work environment. This position will be assigned a State-owned vehicle for business use only. This is a full-time position (40 hours per week) with State Benefits. The work schedule is Monday – Friday and may require some weekend work and overnight travel to meet the demands of the organization. Requirements

  • Associate's degree in construction management, air conditioning, heating and refrigeration technology, industrial maintenance technology or mechanical engineering technology from an appropriately accredited institution and four (4) years of progressive experience in construction or facility maintenance including two (2) years of supervisory experience in construction, maintenance and/or repair of buildings and facilities; or
  • High school or General Educational Development (GED) diploma and five (5) years of progressive experience in facility maintenance or construction including experience in at least three (3) building or mechanical trades including two (2) years of supervisory experience in construction, maintenance and/or repair of buildings and facilities; or an equivalent combination of education and experience.
  • May require current certification by the EPA as a Type I, II, III or Universal technician as required by 40 CFR part 82, subpart F.

Nice To Haves

  • Direct experience with the supervision of construction and/or maintenance personnel working in the electronics field of building automation, water management, electronic surveillance and/or electrical metering.
  • Journeyman level knowledge of electronic principles, devices, and/or systems related to building automation, water management, electronic surveillance, and/or electrical metering/monitoring.
  • Journeyman level of complex electronic systems with emphasis on responsive analysis, diagnosis, and repair.
  • Journeyman level of ethernet networking principles and systems.
  • Ability to establish and maintain effective working relationships with employees, architects, engineers, contractors, maintenance personnel, and working offenders to accomplish the assigned work tasks.
  • Demonstrated experience using Microsoft Office Products, including Word, Excel, and/or Outlook.
