Our client, a leading federal defense contractor is seeking a skilled and motivated Software Defined Networking (SDN) Engineer to join their dynamic team in Scottsdale, AZ. As an SDN Engineer, you'll be responsible for designing and implementing SDN solutions on a multi-transport, networking radio.- Key Responsibilities: - Design and develop SDN solutions to enhance network performance, scalability, and flexibility. - Implement and manage SDN controllers and network virtualization technologies. - Collaborate with cross-functional teams to integrate SDN solutions such as Modular RF, Seeker, and Viasat's NetAgility. - Monitor and troubleshoot network performance issues, providing timely resolutions. - Develop and maintain documentation for SDN architectures, configurations, and procedures. - Stay up-to-date with the latest SDN technologies and industry trends to ensure best practices. - Participate in network architecture design and capacity planning. - Automate network provisioning, configuration, and management tasks using SDN tools and scripting languages. - Provide technical support and training to team members and stakeholders on SDN technologies

  • Must be US Citizen due to work being performed
  • Able to obtain a DoD Secret clearance (active Secret is preferred)
  • BS degree in a STEM field and 8+ years of job-related experience, or a Master's degree plus 6 years of job-related experience.
  • Proven experience in network engineering and SDN technologies.
  • Strong understanding of network protocols, architecture, and security.
  • Proficiency in programming languages such as Python, Java, or C++.
  • Experience with SDN controllers (e.g., OpenDaylight, ONOS) and network virtualization platforms.
  • Familiarity with cloud networking and infrastructure (e.g., AWS, Azure).
  • Excellent problem-solving skills and the ability to work in a fast-paced environment.
  • Strong communication and teamwork skills.
  • Agile is preferred
  • Experience with SDN solutions such as Modular RF, Seeker, and Viasat NetAgility.
  • Familiarity with embedded Linux systems.
