We’re a small, high-performing engineering team within a global SaaS portfolio that values collaboration, data-driven decision making, and continuous improvement. We are seeking a Scrum Master / Development Manager who can bring structure, speed, and clarity to our engineering efforts while leading a distributed team toward operational excellence. This is a hands-on leadership role that blends agile delivery expertise with day-to-day team management. The Opportunity As Scrum Master and Development Manager you’ll ensure that each sprint delivers measurable value. You’ll refine agile processes for speed, quality, and predictability while also directly managing and developing the team. Your leadership will help embed data-driven decision making, foster ownership and accountability, and accelerate effectiveness and productivity. This is an ideal role for a pragmatic, people-focused agile leader who can coach, guide, and elevate the performance of a high-ownership development team.

Requirements

  • 5+ years in agile software delivery roles, including at least 2 years as a Scrum Master.
  • 2+ years of people management or development team leadership experience.
  • Proven track record leading agile delivery for SaaS or B2B product engineering teams.
  • Strong working knowledge of Microsoft Azure DevOps
  • Experience leveraging agile metrics to drive improvement.
  • Solid understanding of Scrum, Kanban, and hybrid agile methods.
  • Excellent facilitation, conflict resolution, and people management skills.

Nice To Haves

  • Experience introducing or managing GenAI tools in engineering workflows.
  • Familiarity with .NET/Azure cloud-native environments and CI/CD practices.
  • Background in small, high-ownership teams modernizing legacy platforms.
  • Experience working with distributed or offshore development teams.
  • Relevant certifications (CSM, SAFe, PMI-ACP).

Responsibilities

  • Manage, mentor, and support the development team that is divided into two functional scrum teams, fostering a culture of accountability, high performance, and continuous improvement.
  • Set clear expectations and push for excellence—helping team members stretch beyond minimum workload to achieve meaningful outcomes.
  • Collaborate closely with Product and technical leads to align capacity, priorities, and delivery timelines.
  • Proactively identify skill gaps, growth opportunities, and resource needs to strengthen team capabilities.
  • Actively and accurately create workload estimates for sales or outside customers whom we provide ongoing development work on their behalf.
  • Facilitate daily stand-ups, sprint planning, retrospectives, and backlog refinement sessions that keep the team focused and aligned.
  • Maintain agile cadence and ensure all user stories are well-defined, estimable, and accurately tracked in Azure DevOps.
  • Define and maintain delivery metrics (velocity, lead time, defect rate, etc.) and translate insights into concrete improvements.
  • Build and manage performance dashboards to guide retrospectives and planning discussions.
  • Identify and address delivery bottlenecks across engineering, QA, and release management.
  • Coach team members in agile principles and servant leadership to promote autonomy and ownership.
  • Champion and measure the impact of generative AI tools (e.g., GitHub Copilot, Cursor, CodiumAI, ChatGPT Enterprise) to accelerate productivity.
