Scrum Master

3EBethesda, MD
69d$90,000 - $105,000Remote

About The Position

Are you a hands-on Scrum Master who thrives in fast-paced environments and leads with energy, clarity, and purpose? We’re looking for someone who’s not just technically capable, but deeply invested in helping teams grow, someone who brings structure to complexity, fosters accountability, and isn’t afraid to jump in and lead from the front. In this role, you’ll guide cross-functional software teams toward stronger delivery and agile maturity. You’ll use AI-powered tools and agile metrics like flow metrics to remove blockers, improve performance, and drive sustainable delivery. You’ll work closely with product, engineering, quality, and operations to build alignment, improve processes, and create a culture of continuous improvement. If you’re a player-coach—curious about emerging tools, motivated by building great team habits, and ready to influence delivery outcomes—you’ll thrive here. Location: Remote (U.S.-based) with a strong preference for East Coast candidates to support time zone alignment and occasional in-person collaboration.

Requirements

  • 3–5+ years of experience in a hands-on Scrum Master or Agile leadership role, with a proven ability to drive delivery—not just facilitate process.
  • Agile certifications such as CSM, PSM, or SAFe are strongly preferred.
  • Strong understanding of Agile frameworks, the software development lifecycle, and tools like Jira, Confluence, and other project tracking platforms.
  • Experience working closely with cross-functional teams, including Product, Engineering, QA, DevOps, and IT, to support smooth and timely releases.
  • Skilled in coaching teams through change, navigating complexity, and building alignment across diverse stakeholders.
  • Proficient in using or integrating AI tools (e.g., ChatGPT, Copilot) and agile delivery metrics (such as flow metrics) to improve team performance and decision-making.
  • Demonstrated success improving delivery speed, quality, and team accountability, especially in environments with multiple priorities and strong personalities.

Responsibilities

  • Lead Agile Delivery
  • Facilitate daily standups, sprint planning, retrospectives, and reviews with purpose and accountability.
  • Coach teams on Agile best practices and keep projects aligned and on track.
  • Proactively identify blockers and work across teams to remove them—before they become issues.
  • Build Team Rhythm & Results
  • Help two engineering teams improve how they plan, build, and deliver software.
  • Support product managers and quality leads in turning ideas into shippable, high-quality work.
  • Reinforce clear expectations around goals, timelines, and quality standards.
  • Use Data and Tools to Accelerate Impact
  • Use delivery metrics to improve team performance—not just to report on it.
  • Apply AI tools (like ChatGPT or Microsoft Copilot) to enhance planning, reporting, or workflow automation.
  • Continuously look for ways to simplify, streamline, and scale what’s working.
  • Be a Hands-On, Visible Leader
  • Bring structure and calm to teams that need it, without slowing them down.
  • Partner across functions including engineering, product, QA, and infrastructure teams.
  • Speak up, build trust, and help the team grow stronger—not just faster.

Benefits

  • Health, dental, and vision insurance
  • Life insurance and disability coverage
  • Generous PTO accrual and paid parental leave
  • 401(k) plan with company matching
  • Employee assistance program
  • Voluntary supplemental benefits (Accident, Hospital Indemnity, Critical Illness)
