About The Position

We are seeking a motivated and detail-oriented Scrum Master I to support our Visualization as a Service (VaaS) and Data as a Service (DaaS) teams for the U.S. Department of Homeland Security (DHS), Cybersecurity and Infrastructure Security Agency (CISA). In this role, you will help facilitate agile ceremonies, support team collaboration, and play a key role in gathering, analyzing, and documenting business and technical requirements to ensure successful product delivery. This is an excellent opportunity for someone early in their agile journey who is eager to learn and grow in a dynamic, data-driven environment. Position requires on-site support in Rosslyn VA 5 days per week in Alrington VA

Requirements

Familiarity with agile frameworks (Scrum, Kanban, SAFe) and agile project management tools (e.g., ServiceNow, Azure DevOps).
Strong written and verbal communication skills, with an emphasis on clear and organized documentation.
Ability to work with both technical and non-technical stakeholders to gather and refine requirements.
Understanding of data visualization concepts and/or data pipelines is a plus.
Scrum Master certification (CSM, PSM I) is desirable but not required.
Must be eligible to obtain a Department of Homeland Security EOD clearance (Requirements 1. US Citizenship, 2. Favorable Background Investigation)

Nice To Haves

Exposure to BI tools (e.g., Tableau, Power BI) or data platforms.
Basic understanding of data governance, ETL, or cloud data services.
Experience supporting teams in a scaled agile or enterprise data environment.

Responsibilities

Facilitate agile ceremonies (daily stand-ups, sprint planning, reviews, and retrospectives).
Translate business needs into user stories, acceptance criteria, and technical documentation.
Maintain the product backlog and ensure user stories are clear, prioritized, and well-defined.
Collaborate with developers, data engineers, analysts, and business stakeholders to ensure shared understanding of goals and deliverables.
Promote agile best practices and a culture of continuous improvement across the teams.
Support cross-functional coordination and communication across VaaS and DaaS initiatives.
Work with stakeholders to gather, analyze, and document detailed business and technical requirements.
Translate business needs into user stories with clear acceptance criteria.
Assist with creating and maintaining process flows, data dictionaries, and other supporting documentation.
Assist in defining MVPs, use cases, and backlog prioritization for data and visualization products.
