About The Position
Marriott has an exciting opportunity for a Scrum Master on the Software Engineering - Data Platforms team. This role is part of the team focused on building out our next generation cloud-based data and API platform. Appropriate candidates have a passion for data and emerging technologies with a take charge attitude and a strong drive for success. In this role, you will deliver data projects and products on time, within budget, while meeting Marriott's expectations. You will plan, assign, direct, and coordinate activities pertaining to data technology projects, on an enterprise level or for a major systems implementation program with multiple releases and work streams. You will verify project goals are accomplished and in line with business objectives. You will be responsible for managing the team that develops and carries out internal information technology projects and products. As a Scrum Master, you will support one or more software delivery teams using Scrum or Kanban methodologies. You will facilitate and support all scrum events: Sprint Planning, Daily Scrum, Refinement, Sprint Review, and Sprint Retrospective. You will be responsible for ensuring Scrum is understood and the team adheres to Scrum theory, practice, and guidelines. Additionally, you will contribute to the advancement and improvement of Agile practices within the organization, working with Agile coaches and other Scrum Masters to grow within the role. You will act as a servant leader of the Agile Team and direct the initiative delivery team, partnering with Product Managers to maintain plans and communicate progress of the team, including product roadmaps, scrum team metrics, and program/project status reporting. Your role will also involve coaching teams by guiding and coaching the Scrum Team on how to use Lean and Agile practices and principles to deliver high-quality products and services to our customers. You will resolve team impediments with other Scrum Masters to increase the effectiveness of the application of Scrum in the organization and work with product owners to handle backlogs and new requests. You will optimize team performance by recognizing areas of strength and improvement and employing appropriate coaching and development techniques. Furthermore, you will support the development of behavioral change management, communications, and training as needed to drive process and tool adoption, implementation, and compliance.
