About The Position
The role encompasses assisting with the patient care in the surgical setting through the provision of sterile and aseptic technique along with technical assistance to the surgical team members and secretarial support for the department.
Requirements
- High school diploma or GED preferred.
- Minimum 6 month’s experience as a surgical scrub tech, or in lieu of experience, completion of an approved Surgical Technology course.
- Aseptic technique in the surgical setting.
- Basic knowledge of medical terminology, computer and order entry skills.
- Able to communicate effectively in English, both orally and in writing.
- Able to work in a fast paced environment and manage/prioritize/complete work assignments and other duties, as assigned.
- A current American Heart Association (AHA) BLS card is required.
- Basic Fetal Monitoring within 3 months of hire.
- Surgical equipment and clinical devices, computers, and general office equipment
- Must be able to perform the essential physical job requirements.
Nice To Haves
- Surgical Technologist Certification (CST) preferred.
