About The Position

The Scrub Tech in Labor/Delivery at Intermountain Health is responsible for providing care to women and newborns under the direction of a Registered Nurse. Requirements

• Current CNA Certification.
• Basic Life Support Certification (BLS) for healthcare providers.
• Completion of nursing assistant training program (if working in Utah) with C.N.A. certification required within 120 days of hire.
• Completion of a fundamentals of nursing class with a passing grade within the past two years (official transcript required) and C.N.A. certification required within 120 days of hire.

• Previous experience as Labor and Delivery Scrub Tech.

Responsibilities

• Prepare surgical suites for C-Section and tubal ligation cases using sterile techniques.
• Prepare delivery tables for vaginal births and assist physicians during procedures.
• Ensure patient rooms are ready with necessary equipment and supplies for labor and delivery.
• Assist patients with personal care tasks such as bathing, restroom use, and ambulation.
• Obtain and document vital signs of patients and newborns before, during, and after delivery.
• Prepare rooms for vaginal deliveries by draping patients and setting up equipment.
• Scrub for C-Section procedures, set up instruments, and maintain sterility during operations.
• Collect and document patient data, reporting any changes to the RN.
• Perform clerical duties as assigned.
