About The Position

The OR Specialist II is responsible for the delivery of safe, effective, and quality patient-centered care in the perioperative suite by maintaining a sterile environment before and during the surgical procedure. Under the supervision of the perioperative registered nurse, the OR Specialist II staff demonstrates knowledge, skills, and behaviors to maintain a consistent level of practice. This role provides safe, therapeutic care in a holistic and systematic way, incorporating differences into the provision of care. The OR Specialist II integrates knowledge, skills, and experiences to meet the needs of patients and families throughout the continuum. They utilize standards, guidelines, protocols, or pathways for care delivery and incorporate data and information to continuously improve care and practice to enhance outcomes. Additionally, the OR Specialist II ensures improvements in practice settings by assuming responsibility for self-development through teamwork training and continuing education.

Requirements

  • High School diploma or GED
  • Completion of Surgical Technologist Program or on-the-job training with at least 5 years experience as a Surgical Technologist
  • BLS obtained within 90 days of hire or transfer.

  • Previous experience in healthcare setting
  • Surgical Tech Certification
