We set high standards for customer service, quality, and keeping costs under control. POSITION SUMMARY The CVOR Surgical Technologist functions as a member of the cardio-vascular surgical team. The incumbent prepares the operating room prior to any surgery or procedure, anticipates and responds to the needs of the surgical team while maintaining the sterile field providing care for the instruments and supplies used during an operation/procedure, and incorporates differences into the provisions of care to promote safe and therapeutic care for the patient in a holistic and systematic way. Integrates knowledge, skills, and experiences to meet the needs of the patients and surgical team throughout the operation/procedure. Utilizes standards, guidelines, protocols, and pathways for care delivery. Incorporates data and information to continuously improve care and practice to enhance outcomes. Ensures improvements in practice settings by assuming responsibility for self-development. The CVOR Surgical Technologist is responsible for assisting with operative procedures and patient care by managing the sterile field and directly assisting the surgical team according to EAMC policies and procedures. Work is performed independently with general supervision provided by a registered nurse. Required emergency call coverage and response time dictated by EAMC policy.

Requirements

  • Graduate from accredited surgical technology program.
  • Recent hospital experience (0-2 years, or educational clinicals).
  • Certified Surgical Technologist (CST) within 90 days of DOH/Transfer
  • BLS within 90 days of DOH/Transfer

  • Recent hospital experience (2+ years).
