Newberry County Memorial Hospital is looking for an on-call SCRQSA Limited Licensed Radiographer to work as needed (Weekday evenings, Weekend hours (Fri, Sat, Sun AM & PM, capability of working 12-hour shifts)), who will perform limited diagnostic imaging procedures as authorized by state law, follows established radiologic and regulatory requirements to ensure patient and staff safety, and provides support for clinic operations (clinical and clerical) as directed and based on training, education and competency. Perform timely and quality radiographic imaging, within scope of training and licensure, for subsequent evaluation and treatment by attending provider. Operates highly specialized equipment, including DR (Digital Radiograph) and PACS (Patient Archive Communication System). Ensure that all equipment is in good working order and in compliance with all applicable laws and regulations. Report concerns or malfunctions to practice manager and submit appropriate work order. Perform quality control checks/audits on radiologic equipment. Maintain records/logs of activities, including x-rays sent out to other facilities. Mains neat, clean, and well stocked work area. Prepares patient for radiologic imaging, including patient identification, order verification, explaining of the procedure and answering patient questions. Positions patient and adjusts equipment to acquire quality images of body area, as ordered by provider. Observe patient during exams for discomfort or distress and take appropriate action. Interact with electronic medical record for patient orders and input appropriate data. Respond to provider’s questions regarding exams.
