About The Position

Oneida Professional Services is seeking a talented Script Writer II to provide scriptwriting and multimedia writing support services for the U.S. Army Medical Center of Excellence (MEDCoE). This position plays a critical role in developing medically accurate, instructionally sound scripts and written products for video productions, distributed learning, and training materials used to prepare Army medical personnel. The ideal candidate is a strong writer with experience in instructional and technical communication, capable of transforming complex medical subject matter into engaging, clear, compliant, and professionally crafted learning content.

Requirements

  • Proven experience as a script writer, technical writer, instructional writer, or similar role.
  • Strong ability to convert medical or technical information into engaging, accurate written content.
  • Experience writing for distributed learning, video production, or training programs.
  • Proficiency with multimedia development tools and eLearning environments.
  • Excellent grammar, editing, formatting, and communication skills.
  • Ability to work collaboratively with SMEs, instructional designers, and production teams.
  • Strong organizational skills for tracking manuscripts, revisions, and approvals.

Nice To Haves

  • Experience writing for medical or healthcare training environments.
  • Familiarity with Army/DoD writing standards and training development processes.
  • Experience supporting MEDCoE or another DoD Center of Excellence.
  • Experience with video-based instructional design or training simulations.

Responsibilities

  • Provide scriptwriting services including research, storyline development, and character development for training video projects.
  • Incorporate instructional principles, learning theory, and best practices into all scripts and multimedia writing products.
  • Ensure all scripts are medically accurate and reviewed/approved by MEDCoE medical SMEs.
  • Write, format, update, review, and edit a wide range of training materials, including: Technical narratives, Student training aids, Training manuals and instructional guides, Lesson plans, Policies and procedures, Web content, Webinar materials, Computer-based training modules
  • Analyze the needs of the target audience to ensure content relevance, readability, and effectiveness.
  • Write and edit instructional materials, technical documentation, and reports using Microsoft Office tools.
  • Ensure accuracy, completeness, and adherence to Army style and writing standards.
  • Coordinate content of final drafts with originators and stakeholders to ensure balanced, clear, and appropriate presentation.
  • Provide timely feedback throughout the review cycle.
  • Maintain organized records of manuscript status, approvals, changes, and corrections.
  • Manage and maintain all program scripts and associated documentation.
  • Ensure all writing products are cohesive, grammatically correct, properly formatted, and aligned with Army writing guidelines.
  • Provide final, production-ready documents for courseware development and/or film production.
  • Conduct all necessary research and interviews to ensure technical accuracy and clarity.
  • Coordinate the review and acceptance process for technical, legal, security, and public affairs approvals as required.
  • Modify and update existing distributed learning materials created with various video, audio, and eLearning development tools, including: Adobe Creative Suite (Premiere, etc.), Final Cut Pro, Flash, HTML, Articulate, Captivate, Rise, Storyline, Adobe Presenter
  • Apply these tools in the context of medical training (experience strongly preferred).
