About The Position
The Scribe position at US Heart & Vascular is designed to facilitate patient flow and ensure that each patient's medical record is accurate and complete. The Scribe will accompany the physician into the examination room, transcribing the patient's history and physical examination while documenting the physician's encounter with the patient. This role is critical in maintaining the integrity of patient records and ensuring that all necessary information is captured during the visit. Key responsibilities include listing all proper diagnoses and symptoms, as well as follow-up instructions and prescriptions as dictated by the physician. The Scribe will also transcribe patient orders, including laboratory tests, radiology tests, and medications, and document any procedures performed by the physician. Maintaining a professional appearance and conduct at all times is essential, as is adhering to employer work practices and establishing effective working relationships with physicians, staff, and management. The Scribe must effectively cope with typical job stress and safeguard the privacy of patient health information. Additional duties may be assigned as needed, making adaptability and a willingness to learn important traits for this position.
