Position Overview We are looking for a detail-oriented, high-energy Sterilization Technician & Clinical Scribe to join our mobile dental team. This unique role sits at the intersection of clinical safety and administrative precision. You will be the engine that keeps our mobile suite running—ensuring every instrument is sterile and every patient encounter is documented accurately in real-time. Since we operate in a mobile environment, you aren’t just a tech; you are a vital part of a lean, mean, dental machine that brings oral healthcare directly to those who need it most.

Requirements

  • High School Diploma or equivalent
  • Fast and accurate typing skills (45+ WPM) and comfort with dental software (e.g., Dentrix, Open Dental, or Eaglesoft).
  • Ability to thrive in a fast-paced, non-traditional environment. You should be comfortable with travel and working in smaller spaces.
  • Ability to lift up to 35 lbs (loading/unloading portable equipment).
  • Capability to stand, bend, and move for extended periods within the mobile unit.

Nice To Haves

  • Completion of a Dental Assistant or Sterilization Tech program

Responsibilities

  • Instrument Management: Decontaminate, scrub, package, and sterilize all dental instruments according to OSHA and CDC guidelines.
  • Equipment Maintenance: Operate and maintain autoclaves, ultrasonic cleaners, and other specialized mobile dental equipment.
  • Mobile Logistics: Ensure the sterile "flow" is maintained within the compact footprint of a mobile unit.
  • Inventory: Monitor clinical supplies and notify the Lead Dentist when stock is low to ensure we never run out of essentials on the road.
  • Real-Time Charting: Accurately record the dentist’s findings, treatment plans, and procedure notes into the Electronic Health Record (EHR) during exams.
  • Patient Records: Update medical histories, take note of allergies, and document vital signs as directed.
  • Efficiency Booster: Help the dentist transition between patients quickly by having the digital "paperwork" ready to go before the chair is even turned over.
  • Turnover: Assist in the rapid breakdown and setup of operatories between patients.
  • Safety Compliance: Ensure the mobile unit adheres to all biohazard waste disposal regulations.
  • Patient Interaction: Provide a friendly, calming presence for patients entering the mobile clinic.
