General Summary A Medical Scribe is needed to support healthcare providers with real-time documentation, improving efficiency and patient care quality. This involves accurately capturing patient information during visits, allowing physicians to focus on direct patient interaction.
Requirements
- High school diploma or equivalent required.
- Considerable mental concentration required.
- Lifting up to 35 lbs., turning activities and nearly constant walking required.
- Standing, turning, carrying, pushing, pulling, stooping, crouching, twisting, and reaching.
- Frequent exposure to infectious disease and hostile persons at times.
- Frequent exposure to communicable disease via blood and other body fluids.
- Minimal physical discomfort.
Nice To Haves
- College experience or a bachelor's in a healthcare-related field is preferred.
- Knowledge of medical terminology, anatomy, and physiology is preferred.
- Proficiency with EHR systems preferred.
Responsibilities
- Accompany providers and document patient encounters in the EHR.
- Capture patient history, physical exam findings, assessments, diagnoses, and treatment plans.
- Update patient information.
- Enter orders or referrals as directed.
- Monitor and inform the physician of lab results.
- Ensure medical record compliance with standards, policies, HIPAA, and Joint Commission guidelines.
- Prepare medical charts and documentation for review and approval.
- Assist with administrative tasks to improve patient flow and provider productivity.
