Responsible for directing, assisting, and leading a group of employees performing various machining operations. Ensures workflow efficiency, quality standards, and adherence to safety protocols. Performs minor machine adjustments and supports production continuity. Perform threading, grooving, chamfering, turning, tapping, reaming, serrating, boring, facing, drilling, and similar operations on departmental conventional machines excluding hand turret. Produce a variety of parts from a variety of materials. Make minor tooling adjustments and resets to maintain specified dimensions. Inspect first pieces and verify machine setup before releasing to operators. Adhere to machine safety procedures. Operate Single and Multi-Spindle Drill Presses and other conventional machines. Load castings and bar stock to maintain continuous machine operation. Wash and pack plated parts to support machine cycles. Use measuring instruments (e.g., micrometers, verniers, scales) to verify part accuracy. Detect and report faulty operations or materials. Operate fork truck and hand trucks to move materials. Maintain clean, safe, and organized work area. Perform TPM activities including cleaning, inspection, lubrication, and tightening of bolts. Perform base clean outs as needed.
