About The Position

Lee's Summit Parks and Recreation is an accredited, gold medal award-winning agency with over 45 full-time professionals and over 300 seasonal and part-time staff who provide the Lee's Summit community with dozens of quality recreational opportunities. Job Scope No supervisory or budgetary responsibilities.

Requirements

• Must be at least 18 years of age.
• Excellent communication skills, both verbal and written.
• Ability to communicate with patrons professionally and respectfully.
• Skills in organizing, planning and preparing materials and evaluating goals and objectives.
• Ability to analyze community needs, problem solve and implement solutions, and relate to the needs of all age groups.
• Ability to establish good working relationship with public, subordinates and supervisors.
• Ability to maintain self-control and composure and set a professional example for the staff and participants.
• Skills in communications and providing exceptional patron service.
• Basic understanding of athletic and sports management rules and procedures.

Responsibilities

• Maintaining records of game related to score, time, fouls, ball possession and periods on the scoreboard and in the game book.
• Maintains safety by following LSPR guidelines, policies and procedures; responsible for reporting issues regarding participants to Recreation Supervisor.
• Responsible for observations related to Adult Basketball league and for advising Recreation Supervisor of observations and recommendations.
• Attends staff meetings as directed.
• Ensures enforcement of rules and regulations of LSPR.
• Performs all other related duties as assigned.
