About The Position

AMERICAN SYSTEMS is an employee-owned federal government contractor supporting national priority programs through our strategic solutions in the areas of Information Technology, Test & Evaluation, Program Mission Support, Engineering & Analysis, and Training. We are seeking a knowledgeable and detail-oriented SCIF Accreditation and Inspection Specialist responsible for ensuring that Sensitive Compartmented Information Facilities (SCIF) and Special Access Program Facilities (SAPF) accreditation and compliance standards are met for Government site(s) and sponsored, compartmented areas. Top Secret/SCI clearance is a must, and U.S. Citizenship is required for the purposes of obtaining/holding a U.S. security clearance.

Requirements

  • Minimum 3–5 years SCIF/SAPF accreditation experience.
  • Knowledge of facility construction standards and best practices for secure spaces.
  • Demonstrated track record in drafting, submitting, and managing SCIF/SAPF accreditation paperwork.
  • Familiarity with NISPOM, DoDM 5205.07, JAFAN 6/9, and other relevant regulations.
  • Certification(s) such as SFPC, SAPPC, SPSC, SPIPC, PSC, ISOC, or ATC preferred; equivalent experience considered for each SPeD certification.
  • Must be able to conduct design reviews, prepare waiver requests, and maintain comprehensive documentation.
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills.
  • Detail-oriented and capable of managing multiple complex security projects simultaneously.
  • Experience interacting with Defense Intelligence Agency (DIA), National Security Agency (NSA), or other CSAs.
  • Top Secret/SCI clearance (active or eligible for crossover).
  • U.S. Citizenship Required for the purposes of obtaining/holding a U.S. security clearance.

Responsibilities

  • Conduct inspections of SCIFs to ensure compliance with applicable regulations (ICD 705, DoD Manual 5205.07, NISPOM, etc.).
  • Prepare, review, and submit SCIF/SAPF accreditation paperwork, including Fixed Facility Checklists (FFCs), Conceptual Design, Construction Security Plans, and other required documentation.
  • Liaise with government accrediting officials and facility security teams to facilitate SCIF certification.
  • Provide recommendations and guidance on facility improvements to meet security requirements.
  • Maintain current knowledge of regulatory changes and updates relevant to SCIF construction and accreditation.
  • Document inspection findings and develop remediation plans for identified deficiencies.
  • Support internal and external audits related to SCIF operations and security.
  • Provide training on SCIF standards and best practices to site personnel.
  • Liaise with government accrediting officials (Cognizant Security Authorities) and internal stakeholders to facilitate the accreditation process.
  • Analyze complex physical security issues and provide cost-effective recommendations that meet policy requirements.
  • Develop and update security policies, procedures, and training programs pursuant to ICD 705 and DoD directives.
  • Other related duties as assigned.
