The largest EAS laboratory with more than 100 scientists servicing multiple portfolios is the center for our biological, toxicology, chemistry, and environmental fate contract research for North America. Successful candidates would be part of a large diverse team collaborating to delivery high quality research to key markets. Located on the eastern shore of the Chesapeake Bay, this historic small town has high quality of life with easy access to major cities such as Washington, DC, Baltimore and Annapolis. Eurofins Agroscience Services is seeking a candidate to fill a position of Scientist to work with our Environmental Fate Department.

Requirements

  • Knowledge of Environmental fate and chemistry.
  • Strong computer, scientific, and organizational skills.
  • Excellent communication (oral and written) skills.
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team, self-motivation, adaptability, and a positive attitude.
  • Ability to learn new techniques, perform multiple tasks simultaneously, keep accurate records, follow instructions, and comply with company policies.
  • A Bachelor’s Degree plus at least of eight years’ experience in the environmental fate field, M.S. with a minimum of five years’ experience or PhD in a relevant field.
  • Authorization to work in the United States indefinitely without restriction or sponsorship.

Nice To Haves

  • GLP study director or project management experience preferred.

Responsibilities

  • Conducts studies to assess persistence and behavior of chemicals in the environment including biodegradation of organic chemicals, bioaccumulation in fish, hydrolysis phototransformation and partitioning in soils and sediments.
  • Experience to perform metabolite identification.
  • Designs and supervises experiments in accordance with regulatory requirements.
  • Serves as an expert for technical issues for staff and customers.
  • Performs data evaluations, reviews the work of others, and writes technical reports.
  • May serve as a primary business contact for clients.
