About The Position

USNH Employees should apply within Workday through the Jobs Hub app The Scientist is an externally funded hourly adjunct position involving a large research program with funding from New Hampshire Municipalities, The Nature Conservancy and similar entities. The Scientist works closely with the PREP Program Scientist and the Habitat and Water Quality Program Manager to implement particular scientific goals of the Program. The Scientist helps data analysis and report writing. Please be advised that this position is supported by external sponsor funding. As such, continued employment in this role is contingent upon the availability of those external funds. If, for any reason, the sponsor funding is reduced or discontinued, employment may be subject to modification or termination in accordance with applicable policies and procedures. Requirements

• Master's degree in ecology or related discipline and at least 5 years of experience related to natural resource management; or PhD degree and three years of experience.
• Experience with statistics and dealing with large datasets.
• Knowledge of NH and Maine coastal communities.
• Ability to use R Studio for statistics, data visualization and automation of certain data-related tasks.

Responsibilities

• Data analysis (50%) Brings data to life using charts and other visualization techniques.
• Presents on data and data implications in various venues.
• Report Writing (50%) Develops reports on data interpretation and implications.
• Publish peer-reviewed articles as necessary on results of PREP scientific activities.
