About The Position

EAG Laboratories is seeking a Scientist to join our SIMS group. This is a great opportunity to train and gain experience using Secondary Ion Mass Spectrometry to conduct analytical testing of semiconductors and other materials. A typical day in the SIMS group will consist of multiple activities and interactions, including: Evaluating customer requests, determining testing requirements, and preparing instruments for analytical work. Analyzing and testing new and existing materials to identify their properties and characteristics for the development or improvement of products. Appling standard and non-standard techniques, procedures, and criteria to carry out complex SIMS analytical work to determine the composition, properties, and/or structure of materials. Preparing reports on analytical results for customers, including interpretation of results. Ensuring instruments are working to their optimum performance and perform maintenance/optimization as necessary. Work Schedule: 3pm-12am, Monday-Friday or 9am-6pm, 4 weekdays + 1 weekend day

Requirements

  • This position works with companies that deal with defense-related activities and is subject to ITAR (International Traffic in Arms Regulations). All accepted applicants must be U.S. Persons as defined by ITAR: U.S. Citizen U.S. Permanent Resident (i.e. “Green Card Holder”) Political Asylee or Refugee
  • PhD degree in either Physics, Chemistry, Material Science or Engineering with experience in materials characterization and surface analysis techniques and equipment.
  • Experienced in Secondary Ion Mass Spectroscopy (SIMS) technique.
  • Familiar with relevant quality system documents and complies with all system requirements.
  • Strong analysis and judgment skills.
  • Computer literate, high level of accuracy and detail oriented.
  • Good organizational skills and able to manage multiple concurrent projects.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.

Nice To Haves

  • Knowledge of X-ray photoelectron spectroscopy (XPS), Auger spectroscopy, RBS, AFM, XRD, and FT-IR.
