About The Position

The Research Department at Alnylam is seeking a Scientist to join a growing team responsible for advancing RNAi therapeutics into the future, by opening up targeted delivery to all tissues. The successful candidate will have a working knowledge of receptor biology and ligand/receptor characterization. This role requires hands-on expertise in tools and techniques used to identify receptors and characterize ligand-receptor interactions. The individual will need excellent collaboration and communication skills to work collaboratively across the research department.
This position is onsite and will be primarily located in Cambridge, MA.

Requirements

• PhD in Biochemistry, Molecular Biology, Cell Biology, or related field.
• 0-3 years of experience in biopharma setting.
• Expertise in receptor biology and characterizing ligand/receptor interactions using ELISA, Western blot, FP, ITC, and BLI/SPR.
• Strong background in protein biophysics to characterize the ligand using DSF, DLS SEC.
• Excellent communication skills (both written and oral) are essential.

Nice To Haves

• Familiarity with high-throughput automation setup is preferred.

Responsibilities

• Contribute to an interdisciplinary team focused on expanding targeted delivery into new cell types and tissues.
• Design, optimize, and execute a wide range of analytical and biophysical assays to assess the identity, purity, stability, and aggregation propensity of ligand candidates.
• Analyze and interprete complex data from various techniques to guide the selection and engineering of ligand with optimal biophysical properties.
• Establish tools, techniques, and assays to identify and characterize new receptors to unlock targeted delivery into new cell types and tissues.
• Transparently communicate results with key stakeholders throughout the organization.
