About The Position

As an R&D Product Development Scientist, you will have the opportunity to drive supply resiliency, renovation, and maintenance projects, enabling growth and ensuring quality objectives and business continuity for Kraft Heinz. Your role will involve prioritizing and executing technical projects that contribute to the ongoing projects for the Snacking Base business. This will include crafting and performing tests to analyze data, presenting results cross-functionally, and commercializing opportunities.

Requirements

  • BS/MS in Food Science, Food Engineering, Dairy Science, Meat Science, Chemical Engineering, Biological Engineering, or related field
  • Minimum of 2 years in a Technical Function (which can include all graduate and/or internship work)
  • Product development and commercialization experience
  • Understanding of ingredient functionality and interrelationship of ingredients and process
  • Excellent communication, influencing, prioritization, and project management skills
  • Strong critical thinking skills and ability to make connections to the big picture
  • Manage multiple assignments/tasks concurrently with the ability to question the priority of work
  • Willingness to travel approximately 30% of the time. Travel could include (but not limited to): to internal plants, co-manufacturers, and suppliers.

Responsibilities

  • This role has the responsibility of leading supply resiliency projects to strengthen the continuity of supply across Snacking components.
  • This role has responsibility for developing new product formulations, portfolio renovation, and customer product solutions across various product lines.
  • Work from ideation to commercialization, from benchtop samples to final production, and from raw material to finished product specification.
  • Manage multiple assignments/development projects concurrently to meet R&D timelines.
  • Build strong relationships and collaborate with internal and external colleagues to optimize new product development processes.
  • Utilize ingredients and process knowledge, experimental design and data interpretation tools to make technically sound recommendations.
  • Collaborate with other colleagues within and outside of your immediate team.
  • Develop relationships with and coordinate commercialization activities across internal and external manufacturing facilities.
  • Lead and complete product testing, qualification, and commercialization in laboratory and production environments.
