Working in the NA Sweet Biscuit Category Jewels & Away From Home Team to deliver the R&D Cross Brand Innovation/Renovation agenda for product development. Scope of work includes Innovation, Renovation & Brand maintenance. How you will contribute With the support and guidance of a manager, you will organize and execute projects in line with R&D, marketing and manufacturing requirements, effectively communicating status and risks. You will plan and conduct pilot plant and factory trials in accordance with good manufacturing practice and HACCP requirements and development activities (e.g. product shelf-life testing, designing for quality, consumer test preparation etc.). You will also write technical reports that will require the analysis and interpretation of results and that lead to conclusions and recommendations and create and maintain accurate consumer-led specifications. You will execute projects as part of a cross functional team, ensuring R&D processes and requirements are met, and effectively communicating status and risks. You will plan and conduct lab, pilot plant and factory trials in accordance with good manufacturing practice and HACCP requirements and development activities (e.g. product shelf-life testing, designing for quality, consumer test preparation etc.). You will ensure specification excellence and work in ION, to identify and lock ingredients and formulas based on scale up feasibility, optimization, regulatory/quality/safety constraints. You will work with your R&D partners to identify and execute consumer and technical learning path; trouble shoot and create rigorous action plans for resolution. You will effectively communicate with your manager to ask for help when needed, outline issues and barriers to solve for. You will also be the go-to R&D for the working team and therefore will communicate effectively with cross functional partners including commercial, manufacturing, and supply chain teams. You will connect with peers and technical experts to seek guidance as appropriate, you will apply technical rigor tools such as TRL, risk management, reporting, as well as digital tools such as Power BI, AIPD, etc. What extra ingredients you will bring: Problem Solving: ability to problem solve within your domain, generating technically sound hypothesis and action plans with the support of peer and experts. Communication: Strong communication skills particularly when it comes to Keeping Manager abreast of any issues and next steps and regularly asks for help as appropriate to remove barriers, influence, tailor message, tell the story; Good presentation skills and able to presents to upper management, with varying degrees of autonomy Mentorship: Independently and proactively Seeks technical expert and SMEs advise on projects technical issues, processes, procedures. Always looking to improve technical expertise and learn from others. Helps Jr scientists grow in their day to day.   • Bachelor´s degree required in Food Science or relative.
  • 4 years minimum of experience in the Food Industry in Product Development required.
  • Ability to travel up to 20-30% of the time, on average, with both domestic and international travel possible. flexibility to travel to Mexico, Canada and within US.
  • This is a full-time role based in East Hanover, NJ with in-office expectations of 3 days per week.
